GOVERNMENT employees from Pangasinan who were affected by the recent typhoons “Pedring” and “Quiel” can now avail of the calamity loan from the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS).

Branch Manager Joselito Roldan of GSIS Dagupan said members can avail of P20,000 as gross loan, , also called emergency loan, with a six percent deduction for the interest.

“All they have to do is use their UMID cards at the kiosk and they will immediately know if they are entitled to avail of the loan,” Roldan said.

The loan package is available until November 18, 2011 through the agency’s six kiosk sites in the province.

The release of the loan funds was approved by the Board of Trustees on October 20.

Pangasinan was declared under a ‘state of calamity’ due to the back-to-back typhoons that caused damage to agriculture and infrastructure estimated at more the P880 million. (PIA-Pangasinan)
