Tourism Month opens with launching of official Pangasinan Hymn

PANGASINAN’s celebration of Tourism Month will be opened on September 12 at the provincial Capitol in Lingayen with the singing for the first time of the official Pangasinan Hymn.

The Pangasinan Culture and Arts Festival and the “I Love Pangasinan” campaign will also be launched that day.

ACTIVITIES AT SM

Other activities lined up include the “Baley Ko Idayew Ko” photo exhibit on September 16 at the SM City Rosales. At the same time, there will be a poster-making contest and cultural presentations under the “Bali-balin Pangasinan” program to be participated in by towns from eastern Pangasinan.

On September 17, festival queens from the third and fourth congressional districts will stage cultural presentations and a fashion show also at the SM mall for the “Panangidayew na Baley” program. There will also be a musical show featuring Pangasinan songs and local talents to be led by ‘Pilipinas Got Talent’ finalist John Michael Narag.

TOURISM CARAVAN

In the fourth district towns, there will be a tourism caravan, laro ng lahi, and skills competition from September 12 to 16.

For the “Baruy Pangasinan” and “I Love Pangasinan” campaigns, lectures on Pangasinan tourism and other provincial government programs will be conducted at the Mangaldan National High School, Dagupan City National High School and Urdaneta Central School from September 19-23.

The first Pangasinan Tourism Assembly for the orientation of local govern units and other tourism stakeholders on the Tourism Act of 2009 will be held at the Pangasinan Training and Development Center on September 26.

On the 27th, in line with the observance of World Wetlands Day, an eco-tour will be held covering the Bolinao Fish farm and mangrove information center as well as a cruise at the Balingasay River. Mangrove and tree planting will follow the next day.

The 1st Bolinao Tourism Amateur Digital Photography contest will be on from September 16 to 30 and at the end of the month, the 2nd Bolinao Tourism Stakeholders Forum 2011 will be held at the El Pescador Resort.

Gov. AmadoT. Espino, Jr., in a September 5 letter, called on all government agencies and local government units to give their support and cooperation to the province’s tourism development and promotion program.
