NEAR CRITICAL—“As the skies cleared at past 3 p.m. of August 31 following almost a week of rains, the water level at the reservoir of the San Roque Multi-purpose Dam Project in San Manuel was still rising and reached 276 meters above sea level (masl), just four meters below the spilling or critical level of 280 masl. No water was released from the dam and the San Roque Power Corporation (SRPC) had given assurance that there would be no need to open the spillway gates unless another typhoon hits this week or next.“(Punchphoto and report by Willie Lomibao)
