THE western Pangasinan National Food Authority (NFA) warehouse in Alaminos City has been adjudged the second best maintained warehouse in the country.

Beverlyn Peralta, officer-in-charge of NFA western Pangasinan, said in a radio interview Wednesday that the warehouse has been rated to be “excellent condition” through orderly filing of stocks, regular clean-up and proper implementation of pest control measures.

The warehouse was cited earlier this year as the best in Region 1.

The Isabela warehouse in Region 2 emerged as the best among the total 88 warehouses in the country.

Regular inspection is also being conducted to ensure that no damaged stocks enter the warehouse, while the surrounding area has been planted with trees to improve its general appearance.

Peralta also stressed that the general condition of a warehouse depend largely on the work attitude of the personnel.

Peralta advised private owners to likewise keep their warehouses clean to maintain the good quality of rice sold to consumers.

Peralta and Regional Director Danilo I. Pastrana will receive the award at the NFA central office in Quezon City on September 26 during the 39th anniversary celebration of NFA. (PIA-Pangasinan)
