Utanes is PICPA-Pangasinan prexy
LINGAYEN–The Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) held its 60th Induction Ceremonies at the Sison Auditorium last July 16 with Marilou Utanes, newly appointed Provincial Treasurer and former Provincial Accountant of Pangasinan, as PICPA President-Pangasinan Chapter for 2011-2012.
Utanes, initially reluctant to accept the position in PICPA, said she is taking it with a vow to leave a “lasting legacy”.
“It is my firm belief that solidarity, service and social responsibility will bring more dignity to our profession,” she said as she pledged tp promote professional practice public accountancy among members.
Governor Amado Espino Jr., speaking during the induction ceremony, promised to support Utanes in her responsibilities in PICPA.
When Utanes was Provincial Accountant, Pangasinan was awarded as the Most Outstanding Provincial Accounting Office in 2009.
The governor also called on the accountants “to be faithful to the most basic principles of sound financial management… to protect the integrity of the system of ‘checks-and-balances’ in their respective organizations. (PIO)
