TeaM Energy awards ‘Kaunlaran’ winners

BOLINAO–This year’s winning cooperatives in the “Kompetisyon para sa Kaunlaran” Program of TeaM Energy Corporation, in partnership with the Office of 1st District Representative Jesus F. Celeste, were awarded last week for their contributions in community development.

This year’s awardees and their winning project proposals are: Anda (PIC) Savings and Credit Cooperative (Anda PIC-SCCo) – “Provision of Production Loan cum Palay Trading”; Centro Toma-Colayo Farmers Multi-purpose Cooperative – “Production of Bio-Organic Fertilizer through Vermi–Composting”; and, Agno Farmers and Vendors Consumers Cooperative (AGFA) – Establishment of a Playa Buying Station”.

Now on its fourth year, the “Kompetisyon para sa Kaunlaran (also known as “Paligsahan para sa Pag-unlad ng Pamayanan”) aims to empower local cooperatives in Pangasinan’s 1st District in influencing development outcomes in their communities.

It recognizes the best project proposals in the areas of health, environment, livelihood and education.

Part of this year’s prizes was a water pump for each of the cooperatives contributed by Celeste.

TeaM Energy, which stands for Tokyo Electric and Marubeni, owns and operates the 1,200 MW Sual Power Station.
