FOR its advocacy programs in helping protect the environment, SM City Rosales was awarded the “Best Partner In Industry” in Region 1 by the Likas Yaman Awards for Environmental Excellence during the recent culmination of the celebration of Environment Month 2011.

SM City Rosales, in line with the SM Supermalls’ Corporate Social Responsibility programs, has undertaken various initiatives aimed at minimizing the impact of its operations to the environment and supporting projects that help preserve nature.

The undertakings include the improvement of the malls’ foot traffic, water and energy conservation, solid waste management, conducting seminars on the use of biofuel, and the use of recyclable bags, among others.

The award was given by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region 1in San Fernando La Union last June 30, wherein Pangasinan was also cited as the Best

LGU-Initiated Environment Project for the provincial level.
