SANGGUNIANG Kabataan Federation president John Chester Gonzalez has appealed to Dagupan City Mayor Benjamin Lim to finally approve and release the federation’s P3 million budget.

Gonzales made the request as the mayor is reportedly planning to cut the SK budget into half.

Gonzales also appealed to the mayor to help the federation prove that it does not have a “lame duck” leadership as it pursues its projects and programs, particularly those related to curbing drug abuse among the youth.

Among the city’s SK projects include organizing basketball tournaments and other sports activities, and a campaign to promote music to encourage youth groups to form bands.

The SK federation, he added, has also tied up with government agencies for the provision of scholarships.

The SK president has since invited the youth to air their grievances and complaints to his office and urged them to help the federation improve their duties by giving suggestions.–Daniel Arquines, CDD
