Police arrests ex-councilor for drug pushing

UMINGAN–A former town councilor here was arrested by joint elements of the police in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Barangay Poblacion West in the morning of July 27 violating the country’s law on dangerous drugs.

Lawmen, armed with a search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Renato Pinlac of San Carlos City, arrested Benjamin Doliente, alias “Banjo”, tagged as a notorious drug personality in this town.

The warrant of arrest was issued for violation of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The suspect also has a pending case for violations of the Anti-Drug Law before the Regional Trial Court of Tayug.

Found by lawmen at his residence were one heat-sealed plastic sachet containing substance suspected to be shabu (methamphetamine), two heat-sealed sachets containing marijuana, two tooters with suspected shabu residue, three disposable lighters, three empty plastic sachets, two cutters with plastic containers, one magazine for Beretta 9 mm. pistol, one round of live ammunition for caliber .38 pistol, one Samsung cellphone and four SIM cards.

The search warrant was served by joint elements of the Special Operations Group, Pangasinan Police Office, Provincial Public Safety Company and the Umingan Police Station.
