Duque elected UCAAP-PRISAA chapter prexy

PUNCH columnist Dr. Gonzalo Duque, president of Lyceum Northwestern University, was recently elected president of the Universities and Colleges Athletic Association of Pangasinan (UCAAP)-Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA), Metro Dagupan Chapter last week.

Elected with Duque to the board of trustees for the 2011-2013 term are Cdr. Arthur Tangco of PIMSAT Colleges, vice-president; Seato Gonimil of University of Luzon, treasurer; and, presidents of PRISAA member-schools who were represented at the meeting by their respective sports directors and/or coaches.

Duque said he accepted the chapter presidency with a mission to continue the positive gains made by PRISAA in the past years.

Metro Dagupan PRISAA will host the 2011 PRISAA Regional Games scheduled on the last week of October.

Meanwhile the 21st Season of the UCAAP-PRISAA Collegiate Basketball Championships this year, dubbed the Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr. Cup, reels off on July 25 at the Don Alipio Fernandez Sr. Peoples Astrodome in Dagupan City with eight collegiate teams participating.

With his election as Dagupan chapter head, Duque is now eligible to be a nominee for president of PRISAA Region I.–Philamer C.Celi
