Dr. Nelmida passes away
PERLA Samson Nelmida, Ph.D, a book author and one of the well-known pillars of Pangasinan literature and culture, died peacefully at 11:20 p.m. of July 7, 2011 at the Philippine General Hospital. She was 85.
A leading educator in Pangasinan, Dr. Nelmida was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Columbia, USA.
She is survived by children Rachael Nelmida Sapigao, Dr. Margot Nelmida Flores and Daphne Nelmida Llanto.
The remains of Dr. Nelmida now lie in state at St. Peter’s in Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City. Interment will be announced later.
