MANAOAG–One of the sisters of President Benigno Aquino III turned over two school buildings to two public schools in separate towns of the province on Thursday.

Pinky Aquino Abellada, who initiated the project called “Silid Pangarap”, said it is her own way of helping the administration of her brother.

Abellada is chairperson of Aklat Gabay at Aruga tungo sa Pag-angat at Pag-asa (AGAPP) that built two buildings, with two classrooms each for kindergarten, at the Manaoag Central School here and in Sual town.

A third ‘Silid Pangarap’ is now under construction in Alcala town.

Each classroom, costing P80,000, is furnished with tables and chairs, reading materials for kindergarten up to Grade III pupils, and with an accompanying toilet and wash rooms.

AGAPP is composed of volunteers, many of who were former classmates of Abellada or the President.

In a talk to newsmen here, the President’s sister said her group initially promised Education Secretary Armin Luistro that they will build 100 ‘Silid Pangarap’ throughout the country during the first year of P-Noy’s administration, but by June 30, the group would have already completed 109.

For P-Noy’s second year in office, AGAPP intends to build another 150 school buildings.

Abellada thanked San Miguel Energy Corporation for sponsoring the construction of the two buildings in Pangasinan.

Other companies helping AGAPP are Uratex, National Book Store, Aboitiz, URT Robina and the Aquino’s youngest sibling, Kris.
