LINGAYEN–As he celebrated his 63rd birthday last June 20, Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. vowed to implement more pro-poor health programs and projects to better serve the public as he visited the different wards of the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital in San Carlos City and Bayambang District Hospital.

The improvement of the different health facilities and structures continues comes after the completion of the major rehabilitation of all 14 government-owned hospitals.

The provincial government has also set its sight on improving the living condition of Pangasinenses by implementing various health programs such as the distribution of PhilHealth cards to indigent families to fully realize his goal of transforming Pangasinan as the “home of the healthiest Filipinos.”

Espino said that it is his desire to make the sick and poor Pangasinenses feel that they are “secured” once they set foot inside the hospitals operated by the province.

Gusto ko rin na ipagmalaki nila ang ating mga ospital at sabihin na maganda ang facilities at serbisyo dito,” the provincial chief executive said.

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) recently approved an additional P40million budget for 2011 to pay for additional PhilHealth Premiums.

This, according to the governor, will cover more indigent families throughout the province and enable the provincial government to continue the improvement, renovation, and construction of new buildings of the various provincial health facilities. (PIO/Ruby R. Bernardino)
