Dagupeno elected PKF president
DR. ENRICO Guadiz Vasquez, a Dagupan City son, was unanimously elected as national president of Philippine Karate-do Federation (PKF) to succeed Philippine Olympic Committee Spokesman Joey Romasanta.
Vasquez, as head of a National Sports Association (NSA), automatically becomes a member of the Philippine Olympic Committee General Assembly headed by Jose “Peping” Cojuangco.
NCR Karate Director Emmanuel Velez is the new PKF deputy president.
Vasquez is Shihan/Chief of the Philippine Branch, International Federations of Wado Ryu Karate-do Organization headed by Grandmaster Hironori Ohtsuka based in Nerima Tokyo Japan.
Prior to his current post, Vasquez was the PKF-VP president Central North Luzon, and PKF Regional Director and the Chairman–Upgrading Board.
He authored the 2011 policy in the selection of Philippine Karate Team members on the authority of the Philippine Olympic Committee in the search look for new and young talents in Philippine sports.
