Villasis lass wins talent contest
LINGAYEN–She fell down but was not out.
Eorlene D. Pedeglorio, one of the 19 candidates for this year’s Limgas na Pangasinan Beauty Pageant, won the Best in Talent award during the talent night competition held April 27 at the Sison Auditorium here.
A native of Villasis, Pedeglorio displayed an impressive performance in acting, singing and dancing.
During her performance, the 23-year old Pedeglorio accidentally tripped, lost her balance and fell.
But she quickly regained her composure, gracefully stood up, waved and smiled at the audience, earning a loud applause and the nod of the judges.
This year’s official candidates are Ma. Regina D. Casayuran from San Quintin; Bianca P. Binas, Sta. Maria; Honey Lyn M. Dizon, Mangaldan; Araceli Elizarde, Urdaneta City; Maui V. Palisoc, Urbiztondo; Whitney C. Tibayan, Tayug; Maria Marjorie Antigua, San Carlos City; Christy R. Regaspi, Sual; Kramae G. Librado, Pozorrubio; Janice B. Begonia, Alaminos City; Rosvielentine V. Rosales, Urdaneta City; Eorlene D. Pedeglorio, Villasis; Lence B. Fantastico, Infanta; Ma. Cristina Sanchez, Urdaneta City; Dianarra C. Cardozo, Anda; Ma. Benigna A. De Guzman, Alaminos City; Charmaine S. Gamboa, Lingayen; Leona Paula R. Santicruz, Sta. Barbara and Katlyn T. Sable, Binmaley.
Dr. Ana Ma. Teresa de Guzman, Provincial Health Officer and Limgas na Pangasinan committee chair, congratulated the candidates for their outstanding performances.
The Limgas na Pangasinan title holder will act as the province’s ambassadress of goodwill, specifically in the areas of tourism and environment protection thrusts of the provincial government.
After the individual performances of the candidates, they paraded on stage wearing their colorful festival costumes that represent their town’s One-Town-One-Product (OTOP).
The Best in Festival Costume was to be announced and awarded during the Pageant Night on April 30 at the Capitol Plaza where the 2011 Limgas na Pangasinan will be crowned. (PIO/Ruby R. Bernardino)
