VP Binay is UL commencement speaker

VICE President Jejomar Binay will be the speaker during the 94th commencement exercises of the University of Luzon to be held April 12 at the CSI Stadia.

In recognition of his efforts in championing excellence in local governance, Binay will be presented a Doctorate of Humanities (Public Administration), honoris causa and the Luis F. Samson Sr. Medallion of Honor and Scroll of Commendation, one of the highest awards presented by the university, by UL president Dr. Macarthur Samson Sr.

Before his election as the country’s vice president last year, Binay was mayor of Makati from 1988 to 2010 in various terms.

He also served as chairman of the Metro Manila Development Authority, board member of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport and director of Metro Manila Transit Corporation.

Dr. Aurora Samson-Reyna, UL vice president for academic affairs, said more than 700 degree candidates will be graduating from the Dagupan and Pozorrubio campuses of UL.
