LINGAYEN–In line with his administration’s commitment to sports development, Governor Amado Espino Jr. has announced plans to set up a year-round sports program in support of Pangasinan’s young athletes.

“In this way, Pangasinan can produce the best athletes,” Espino said.

The governor rallied the province’s representatives to the coming Ilocos Region Athletic Association 2011 (IRAA) scheduled on March 14-19 to give their all and make Pangasinenses proud.

The regional meet will be hosted by Pangasinan at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center (NRSCC) here at the capital town.

The provincial government has been supporting the athletes in their preparations through tune-up games.

“We want to be number 1 as we want to compete in the national level,” Espino said.

Ilocos Norte has been the regional champion every year for the past 11 years.

The IRAA meet will be participated in by representative from 14 divisions in Region 1.
