MODERN MEDICAL EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIES

THE Nazareth General Hospital has announced the availability of Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) for stone removal without surgery.

According to Dr. Edmundo G. Exconde, hospital director, the ESWL is a non-surgical approach to rid the kidney, urether and bladder of stones by utilizing shockwaves to break stones with very minimal effect on kidneys.

He explains that this latest technology has a wide focal zone enabling it to proceed at a slow rate and at a low power setting.

“The technique provided by ESWL ensures minimum shockwave delivery to the stone, making it much safer for the affected kidneys.

Meanwhile, he announced that the Caring Building of the hospital is now home to state of the art medical equipment and world-class facilities comparable to the facilities of prestigious hospitals in Metro Manila for the benefit of its patients.

Among the new sections to be blessed on Monday, February 14, are the Urology Section, Operating Room Complex, Nursery/Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit and Cerebro-Cardiovascular Imaging Section.

He added that patients will find clean and modern comfortable settings inside private rooms and they will appreciate the quiet contemplative mood inside the new chapel.
