FIFTY-TWO broadcast practitioners in the region recently attended the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) the seminar and took accreditation examination for broadcasters in Region 1 last January 30 in Dagupan City.

KBP legal counsel Atty. Rudolf Steve Jularbar, in his lecture during the seminar, underscored the need for responsible broadcast journalism.

“Whatever you are going to do or say is something the next generation will reap, so we must all be responsible journalists. The use of the airwaves is not a right but a privilege,” said Jularbar.

He also stressed the importance of fair coverage by always presenting the different sides of a story because broadcasters do influence public opinion.

The results of the exam will be announced in three weeks.

KBP is a national organization composed of broadcast media practitioners, radio and television station owners and operators, and the radio and television stations themselves.
