LINGAYEN–The barangay chairman of Condordia, Bolinao died and eight others were hurt in a three-vehicle collision along the national highway in Barangay Ambabaay, Bani last February 7 at 9:20 p.m.

The fatality was identified as Antonio Cabelles, who was driving his Mitsubishi Gallant heading east and collided with a Five Star bus driven by Leo Enero, 28, who was overtaking a motorcycle.

Witnesses say both Cabelles and Enero were driving at high speeds.

Cabelles’ car subsequently hit the motorcycle while the bus swerved on the left side and rammed into a house, injuring one of its occupants.

Hospitalized as a result of the incident were Danilo Degano, lone companion of Cabelles; Jerry Agbayani, bus conductor; Rene Cabansag, driver of the motorcycle; and five bus passengers who were not immediately identified.

Also hurt was Elmer Taganap Jr., who was sleeping inside the house of one Zaldy Camarillo where the bus crashed.

All the injured were brought to the Western Pangasinan District Hospital in Alaminos.
