THE Lyceum Notherwestern University (LNU) is now putting together its next basketball team with scheduled try-outs every Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. at the university gym.

Coach Angel Gumarang announced he is already accepting high school graduates to try out for slots in the varsity basketball team, which is made up of teams A and B, with fifteen players each.

Candidates for the try-out must be physically fit, of good moral character, and if possible, not more than 20 years old.

Interested players are required to bring their birth certificates and high school report cards and submit these to any of the coaching staff at the university gym on the day of the try out.

Gumarang said once the teams are completed, the training program to make the teams competitive in forthcoming major cagefests at the local, regional and national levels, including the UCAAP and PRISAA, among others, will start.

Varsity team members get a four to five year scholarship grant in academic studies (except medical, health and nursing courses), free quarters, and an incentive.– Philamer C. Celi
