LINGYEN–The Filipinas Copyright Licensing Society, Inc. (FILCOLS) has vowed to assist the literary artists of Pangasinan in protecting their rights for their creative work.

FILCOLS officials, led by Executive Director Alvin Buenaventura, met with members of the Ulopan na Pansiansay Salitan Pangasinan (UPSP) on January 28 in Lingayen for the “Huntahan”, a round table discussion about writing, publishing, intellectual property rights and copyright.

During the forum, Abdon Balde, Jr., chairperson of Unyon ng mga Manunulat sa Pilipinas, provided the participants with insights on writing, publishing and marketing of literary works.

Maria Luisa Elduayan, Pangasinan Tourism Officer, said the activity was fully supported by Governor Amado Espino, Jr. as part of his administration’s program to help preserve Pangasinan arts and culture, including the revival of literary works written in Pangasinan.

UPSP is composed of Pangasinan literary and song writers, and literary professors from the state private universities in the province. (PIO)
