Maybank celebrates global CSR Day
MAYBANK, which has branches in the Pangasinan cities of Alaminos, Dagupan and Urdaneta, recently, celebrated a global Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) day with simultaneous activities across the world.
The global activities held on November 20 were part of the 50th anniversary celebration of Maybank, a financial institution headquartered in Malaysia.
“This is a historic moment for the bank, as Maybank staff not only in the Philippines but also worldwide are carrying out their outreach program in a global initiative,” said Maybank Philippines President and CEO Amos Ong
The CSR program also ran in Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei, Cambodia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Bahrain, London, New York and Papua Guinea. The activities undertaken focused on the five key areas of Maybank’s CSR efforts, namely education, welfare, sports, environment and health & medical needs.
In a press statement, Group President and CEO Dato’ Sri Abdul Wahid Omar said, “This one day reaffirms our commitment to be close to communities. It is also our employees’ strong call to action in living up to our mission to humanize financial services across Asia. In preparation for this, Maybankers have contributed their own funds as well as organized various fund raising activities for their respective projects.”
