Manaoag hospital boosts maternal health care
THE Manaoag Community Hospital (MCH) now has its own maternal care unit, complete with a labor and delivery room and a nursery for newborns.
The hospital’s newly-constructed Acute Maternal and Neo-Natal Care Unit and TB DOTS building were inaugurated last week by Gov. Amado Espino Jr.
MCH will soon start operating on a 25-bed capacity, up from its 10-bed capacity, with brand new beds for the labor room and delivery room, new delivery tables and other facilities for the nursery room.
Espino pointed out that the upgrading of all public hospitals in Pangasinan is part of the provincial government’s effort to further improve health care services and fulfills his dream for expectant mothers to the opportunity to give birth in a hospital”.
Meanwhile, Dr. Ferdinand Totaan, chief of hospital for the MCH, acknowledged that the operations at the MCH have greatly improved following the assumption of Espino into office.
Totaan noted the increase in revenues of the hospital to P1.7 million and P1.2 million in the past two years from only around P200,000 before the rehabilitation.
