DE LA Salle-College of St. Benilde Manila landed in the top spot of the two-day 2010 National Inter-Cities and Municipalities Rapid Chess Tournament hosted by Dagupan City last December 18 and 19.

The event, participated in by 44 players, was organized by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) headed by Prospero “Butch” Pichay, president/chairman and Tagaytay City Mayor Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino as secretary general with the city government as the main sponsor.

The local teams that joined the tourney were 6th District of Pangasinan, Binalonan, Dagupan City, Dagupan City “A”, DepEd Dagupan City, JSB Marketing-Urdaneta City, La Casa De Ahedrez-Dagupan City, Mangaldan, RBR-Alaminos City, San Fabian and Urdaneta City.
