Pangasinan is grand slam winner in NSM celebration
LINGAYEN–Pangasinan earned a grand slam award for consistently having the best celebration of the National Statistics Month (NSM) in the region.
Pangasinan is now elevated to the Hall of Fame for maintaining its number one status for three consecutive years from 2008 to 2010.
Gov. Amado Espino, Jr. congratulated the provincial steering committee headed by Board Member Von Mark Mendoza, for its efforts in making the province’s NSM celebration the best in Ilocos.
He also lauded the students from the secondary and tertiary levels who won the major awards in the various competitions.
The province bagged the championship awards in jingle making contest, statistics quiz, poster/slogan making contest and oratorical contest.
Calasiao Comprehensive National High School grabbed the top award in the jingle-making contest while Pangasinan State University Lingayen Campus bested other competitors in the statistical quiz.
In the poster/slogan-making contest, Colegio San Jose de Alaminos and PanPacific University North Philippines in Urdaneta City won in the secondary level and tertiary level respectively. The Lyceum Northwestern University in Dagupan City garnered the championship in oration.
Vice-Governor Ferdinand Calimlim and BM Mendoza received the award on behalf of Espino last October 28 at the BSP regional office in San Fernando City, La Union during the regional closing ceremony of the 21st NSM.
