AFTER recently attending a conference on global peace in Kenya, 4th District Rep. Gina ‘Manay’ De Venecia will be off to Cambodia for another peace-keeping confab, this time focusing in Asia.

De Venecia will represent the Philippines in the 6th General Assembly of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) in Phnom Penh from December 1 to 4 where she will expound on the Philippine’s programs to promote international cooperation.  She will also share her experiences in addressing women and children issues.

The assembly will be hosted by the Cambodian People’s Party in collaboration with the FUNCINPEC Party.

The organizing committee said the global forum seeks to “further promote the ICAPP objectives of strengthening democracy and raising the standard of living in our region through expanded cooperation among political parties.”

Former House Speaker Jose de Venecia Jr., Mrs. De Venecia’s husband, is the Founding Chairman and Chairman of the ICAPP Standing Committee.

Earlier, Manay Gina addressed the Global Peace Convention from November 17 to 20 at the Kenyatta International Convention Center in Nairobi.

The Nairobi Convention brought together “leading voices from around the world, including cutting-edge service and interfaith leaders, social entrepreneurs, and government and business representatives” who converged under the theme “One Family under God.”
