Chess competition set Dec. 18-19
WOULD-BE chess masters from all over the country are expected to arrive in Dagupan City to participate in the Inter-City Chess Competition on December 18 and 19 at the People’s Astrodome.
The competition, sponsored by the city government, is sanctioned by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines under the presidency of Rep. Prospero Pichay and Mayor Abraham Tolentino as secretary general.
“The event will be an added attraction in the coming city fiesta celebration which will start 15th of December,” said City Administrator Vladimir Mata.
The prizes at stake are P100,000 for the champion, P70,000 for the second and P50,000 for the third.
