UL’s Ravanzo to join ASEAN training

UNIVERSITY of Luzon information officer Ryan Ravanzo has been chosen as one of the young Filipino leaders who will participate in the ASEAN Young Leaders Training Program in China from October 11 to 31.

The ASEAN Young Leaders Training Program is a key program launched by the All-China Youth Federation aimed at enhancing friendly relationship between China and ASEAN countries and promoting the friendship and mutual trust among young people.

During the three-week program, Ravanzo, will learn basic Chinese language; study Chinese history, culture, politics, economy; visit enterprises, governments, universities, communities and rural areas in Guangxi, Nanjing and Beijing, and interact with Chinese youth.

Dr. Macarthur Samson Sr., UL president, expressed his elation over Ravanzo’s selection saying that it will be a great opportunity to re-strengthen and enrich Philippine-Sino relations and establish international linkages with Chinese universities and promote mutual cooperation in the field of education.

Samson said Ravanzo’s goodwill mission to China is the latest addition to the international linkages profile of UL which has earlier forged agreements with China Jiangsu Service Center of Overseas Education, I-Shou University in Taiwan, Universitas Kristen Maranatha in Bandong, Malaysia, Birmingham Young University in Utah, USA, Universititeit Leidin, Erasmus University Rotterdam, and the The Hague University in Netherlands, among others.

He added that the University of Luzon is also set to ink a twinning pact and pursue student exchange program next with the University of Indonesia this month.
