Poetry writing contest held for WTD
THE “Thank You, My Teacher” poetry writing contest was held in three different schools in Dagupan on October 5 on the occasion of the celebration of World Teachers Day.
The poetry writing contest, sponsored by Nido and Lucky Me, was initiated by Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez and Councilor Dada Reyna, chair of the Dagupan City Council committee on Women, Children and Family Affairs.
The contest was held to encourage poetry writing among Dagupan students and to honor teachers for their sacrifices during the celebration of World Teachers Day.
Both the winning students and honored teachers were awarded prizes.
The contests were held at the Pantal Elementary School, Dagupan City National High School, and the Mother Goose High School.
The first prize winners were Adraine Suarez, Grade VI at the Pantal Elementary School, and his teacher Lily Ferrer; Anna Dominique Castro, a third year high school student at the Mother Goose High School, and her teacher Ana Gonzales; and Judith Bea Anila, third year high school at the Dagupan City National High School, and her teacher Mary Jean Siapno.—LM
