MANGALDAN– Paper Tech, A China-based company, is set to start building a tissue paper factory in Barangay Salay by October 1, making it the first foreign company to invest here.

Vice Mayor Bernardo Abalos, who personally invited the company to invest in the town, said Paper Tech will manufacture tissue paper for domestic use using recycled paper that will come from homes and offices in Pangasinan.

The factory is expected to provide employment to hundreds of residents and significant revenue to the municipal government of this first class town, located east of Dagupan City, the commercial hub of the province.

Paper Tech initially planned on building its factory in Davao, but Abalos said he was able to convince the owners to instead come to Mangaldan.

The factory will be located on a property of Abalos, beside the National Food Authority warehouse.

Earlier, Mayor Herminio Romero hailed the project and thanked Abalos for contributing to the development of Mangaldan’s economy.–LM
