LINGAYEN–A group of Korean investors have presented a master plan for three of its seven proposed business ventures in the province.

Representatives of JJGPK Co. Ltd., in a presentation before Governor Amado Espino Jr. during his recent trip to South Korea, outlined the development plan for the eco-tourism zone, cold storage and chicken dressing plant.

The investors and Espino agreed that a retirement village, which will cater to Korean retirees and Filipino Korean war veterans, and a golf course will be the first projects that will be set up.

The eco-tourism zone, tentatively dubbed “Lingayen Land,” will be a self-contained community that will have an African and Asian safari tours with its own mono trail, and a theme park dubbed as “dream land” which will feature, among other things, Philippine history.

The complex will also host a yacht club, docking areas, water sports area, a string of restaurants with a floating restaurant as a highlight, hotels and a water park.

Other projects that were also discussed include a surplus center, knowledge process outsourcing, mining and water transport.

OTHER VENTURES

The governor, accompanied by other provincial government representatives for training on the operation of the soon-to-open Rice Processing Plant in Sta. Barbara, also visited a cold storage facility, similar to what is being planned for construction in Pangasinan.

The planned chicken dressing plant will use a technology that is six times faster than the usual chicken dressing plant in the country.

For the surplus center, the Korean investors plan to sell slightly used home and office appliances.

The governor also asked the Koreans to look for investors who may want to set up a steel manufacturing in Pangasinan, saying that the country’s rich minerals resources is not being maximized.

Other proposed business ventures from other Korean investors include: a commercial and industrial complex, a Pangasinan Heart and Medical Center, electric vehicle manufacturing, housing program, and waste-to-energy plant.
