LINGAYEN–The dengue disease has not yet reached an alarming proportion in
Pangasinan, according to the Provincial Health Office (PHO).

The PHO has recorded 316 dengue cases from January to August 23 this year.

According to PHO, the number is “not yet quite alarming” considering that the number of patients registered last year was 980.

Mangatarem, which early this month declared a dengue outbreak, so far has the highest number of cases.

Provincial Health Officer Ana de Guzman, however, said reported cases appear to be rising in Dagupan City.

The PHO has ordered an intensified health education drive by all rural health units in Pangasinan to educate people on how to avoid the disease.—LM
