LINGAYEN–A delegation headed by Gov. Amado Espino Jr. was in South Korea last week for an agricultural training relating to the Rice Processing Complex (RPC) now under construction.

The group was composed of officials and prospective personnel of the RPC, which is being built with financial and technical help from the Korean government through the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

The five-day training included orientation, discussions, study visits and field trips to industrial plants relative to the project.

KOICA provided a grant for the establishment of Modern Integrated Rice Processing Complexes in four provinces of the Philippines.

The RPC in Pangasinan, expected to be operational by November, is located at the Provincial Nursery Compound in Sta. Barbara town.

Dolly Moya, provincial agriculturist, said 70 percent of the civil and structural works of the complex has already been completed.

More than 200,000 farmers in Pangasinan are expected to benefit from the modern facility.
