Dad calls for drug test on city hall employees
THE city council of Dagupan passed on Monday a resolution asking Mayor Benjamin Lim to direct all city government employees to undergo voluntary drug testing.
Councilor Jesus Canto, who authored the resolution, said civil servants must set a good example in the community by voluntarily subjecting themselves to drug testing.
“This is in line with the time-honored dictum in the Constitution that a public office is a public trust so much so that all civil servants must show themselves fit to serve in the government,” the resolution said.
It added that persons hooked on prohibited drugs are not fit to serve in the government.
