THE University of Luzon (UL) is aiming for a Center of Excellence (COE) status for its Teacher Education Program under the College of Education.

Representatives from the Technical Board for Teacher Education, Commission on Higher Education (CHED), and the Teacher Education Council visited UL last July 21 for an ocular inspection and validation of its application.

Dr. MacArthur M. Samson Sr., UL president, said the entire UL community has been working hard to achieve the highest levels of competence for its College of Education.

“We are ready to demonstrate the strongest evidence of our devotion to excellence and become a shining example in teacher education,” he said.

UL has been recognized by the CHED as a COE for its Criminology program.

In March 2009, UL was elevated to autonomous status by CHED in recognition of its integrity and reputation as an academic institution, adherence to quality education, commitment to public responsibility and accountability as a higher education institution.
