BMs assure “principled collaboration” with Espino
LINGAYEN–Members of the new provincial board belonging to different political parties have vowed to carry out a “principled collaboration” with Governor Amado Espino Jr.
Of the 12 elected provincial board members, four are with the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC), four with the Liberal Party (LP), and four are with Espino in the Lakas-Kampi-CMD.
Re-elected Board Member Alfonso Bince Jr. of the 6th District of Pangasinan, an NPC member and the most senior veteran among the incumbent provincial legislators, said Espino’s landslide victory in the last election is a clear indication of the people’s approval of his agenda.
“As provincial board members, we owe it to the people to support him (Espino) because the governor’s overwhelming victory against his opponent was a message to the provincial board to give flesh to his proposed projects,” Bince said.
Espino is with the Lakas-Kampi CMD but his running-mate, elected Vice Governor Jose Ferdinand Calimlim, is with the NPC.
For his part, newly elected Board Member Ranjit Ramos Shahani of the LP, a former vice governor and two-term congressman in the 6th District, said the LP in the province is willing to work with all sectors and other political parties so that Espino can continue his good works.
Re-elected Board Member Jeremy Agerico Rosario of the 4th District and Board Member Danilo Uy of the 5th District, said shared their colleagues’ sentiment that the whole provincial board should support the latter.
The elected board members will soon among elect from among themselves the presiding officer pro tempore, majority floor leader, minority floor leader and.
But the balance is expected to tilt in favor of the Lakas-Kampi-CMD with the support of the ex-officio board members, Amadeo “Deo” Espino, president of the Liga ng mga Barangay Pangasinan chapter and brother of the governor, and Casil Celeste, president of the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation.
