Talk ‘N Text scouts for “MVP ng Bayan”
THE search is on for the first “Talk ‘N Text MVP ng Bayan”, a promising basketball superstar from among the sport’s millions of fans in the country.
“We are excited to open this door of opportunities to all talented basketball players among the youth, especially the underprivileged. With the immense popularity of basketball in the country, we are confident that we can discover someone with real talent just waiting to be tapped,” said Perry Bayani, head of marketing at Talk ‘N Text, a unit of wireless services provider Smart Communications, Inc.
All male Talk ‘N Text subscribers, within the age range of 13-21 years, are welcome to join and test their basketball skills against other players in the regional try-outs.
Two individuals are expected to emerge, as winners from each of the regional try-outs, and all 12 winners will compete at the national try-outs to be held in Metro Manila on June 19.
The basketball player who wins in the national try-outs will receive a P100,000 scholarship grant, plus an all-expenses-paid sports program for his barangay.
Talk ‘N Text is implementing the nationwide search in cooperation with the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).
