Outstanding youth group award launched

ROSALES–The annual search for Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations (TAYO), now on its eighth year, was launched last June 15 at the SM City Rosales.

The search is open to youth organizations in which majority of the members are aged 15 to 30 years old. TAYO involves in-school, out-of-school, working youth, and young professionals, as well as any barkada that believes it can make a difference in the lives of others.

Awardees are selected through projects implemented in the areas of education, livelihood and entrepreneurship, community service, technology, health, media, arts and culture, and the environment.

The TAYO search, an initiative of Senator Francis Pangilinan, aims to acknowledge the contribution and achievement of youth groups and organizations, instead of just individual accomplishments, to their schools and communities.

Other partners in the awards include the National Youth Commission, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Interior and Local Government, and the SM Supermalls.

SM City Rosales is now accepting applications and nominations for the search through the SCMC Administration Office. Deadline of submission of entries is on July 30, 2010.
