Education gets high priority under Gov. Espino

Lingayen–Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. turned over five service vehicles to the different schools’ divisions in Pangasinan during the regular flag raising ceremony on April 26, at the Capitol Complex here.

The Governor said, the vehicles will help improve the work efficiency of the schools division superintendents that will redound to the benefit of the young generation whom he dubbed “future hope of the province.”

Gov. Espino said that he knows the burden of public schools as he disclosed that he was a product of public institution. “I have seen the deterioration of capital outlay related infrastructure of these institutions which include books and vehicles,” he said as he added that this matter has inspired him to give preferential attention to education sector in Pangasinan.

It will be recalled that the provincial government published teacher guidebooks in the province to provide uniform medium of instruction to public schools in Pangasinan.

Malugod po kami na makapagbigay ng ganitong pagkakataon para sa mga kabataan ng Pangasinan na siyang susunod na mamumuno ng ating probinsya,” Gov. Espino said stressing that.

Meanwhile, the five schools superintendents thanked the provincial chief executive for the support that he has been extending to the education sector since he assumed his post in July 2007.

“This is a simple way of the Governor to express his love for the young people in Alaminos which is considered as another welcome shot to improve the academic performance of students,” Dr. Oscar G. Tadeo, Alaminos City Schools Superintendent, said. He added that said undertaking will likewise help improve the instructional performance of DepEd personnel in Pangasinan.

San Carlos City Schools Superintendent, Dr. Rowena C. Banzon, on the other hand, said that this is the first time that the provincial government awarded a service vehicle to the DepEd in addition to the L300 vehicles issued by the province earlier to facilitate quality, timely and efficient administrative services.

The awarding of service vehicles to all school divisions of Pangasinan was part of Governor Espino’s thrust to upgrade the quality of education in the province especially from the grassroots level.

Other schools superintendent who personally received their service vehicles are Dr. Aurora T. Domingo, Pangasinan I, Dr. Viraluz S.  Raguindin, Pangasinan II and Dr. Maria Celia Fernandez, Urdaneta City.  (PIO/Ruby R. Bernardino)
