INC endorses Gov. Espino
LINGAYEN—With their recent anointment by the Iglesia Ni Cristo as its official candidates, the Amado Espino Jr.- Ferdinand Calimlim tandem practically secured the duo’s formidable lead in the provincial race.
The INC in the province is estimated to have 100,000 bloc-voting members, thus, the INC endorsement has virtually given the linchpin for an Espino victory on Monday’s polling.
Earlier, former Pangasinan Gov. Rafael M. Colet, president of the Pangasinan People Power Movement which lists 100,000 card-bearing members also endorsed Gov. Espino’s candidacy before members of the Pangasinan media.
Colet said, “being electorates and for love of Pangasinan, it is the duty of the movement to give just endorsements for local posts,” even as he noted that Gov. Espino is the “far better candidate’ who can bring hope and initiate reforms not only for Pangasinan but the country as well.
Meanwhile, other political parties have crossed party lines to support Espino. Biskeg na Pangasinan headed by Dangerous Drugs Board Secretary Bebot A. Villar, the National People’s Coalition, and Abono Party-List have endorsed the duo.
The Born Again Christian Movement with 100,000 members in tow has also expressed support to the Espino-Calimlim team.
