THE influential Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) religious group has endorsed Team GAB, the group led by candidates Gina de Venecia, Alipio Fernandez Jr., and Belen Fernandez.

The support of INC, whose members faithfully vote as a block based on their leaders’ endorsements, is considered vital during Philippine elections.

Other members of the GAB endorsed by INC are Maybelyn Fernandez, Jesus Canto, Karlos Reyna, Alfie Fernandez, Dada Reyna, Luis Samson Jr. and Alex de Venecia, all candidates for councilor.

Three others from the competing party, namely: Brian Lim, Redford Mejia and Nelson Cuison, were also endorsed by INC.

De Venecia, wife of incumbent 4^th District Rep. Jose de Venecia Jr., is running to replace her husband who is serving his last term under the Nationalist People’s Coalition.

Mayor Alipio Fernandez Jr. and Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez are both in a re-election bid in Dagupan City under the Liberal Party.

Sample ballots highlighting the names of INC’s endorsed candidates have already been delivered to INC members and distributed at their churches.

GAB said the endorsement of INC is an indication that the Church respects and acknowledges the sincerity of the three in public service.

Earlier, Team GAB was also personally endorsed by El Shaddai leader Brother Mike Velarde, another influential religious leader.
