AFTER two days and two nights of tension brought about by the non-stop political rallies, the final count for the May 10 election in the municipality of Pozorrubio was finally completed and made official.

It was a victory for both the Liberal Part and the administration’s Lakas-Kampi-CMD.

Proclaimed winners are: Mayor Artemio Chan (Lakas-Kampi-CMD-NPC) and Vice Mayor Reynaldo Reyes (Liberal Party).

For Sangguniang Bayan, the following were elected: Kelvin Chan (Lakas), 16, 819; Atty. Joseph Frianeza (Lakas,), 14,375; Miguel Abalos Sr. (LP), 14,055; Dr. Carlos Gramata (Lakas), 11,905; Reynaldo Magno III (LP), 11,705; Jovito Estaris Sr. (Lakas), 11,548; and Rogelio Amansec (Lakas) 10,919.

Based on COMELEC elections results dated May 14, Chan garnered 16, 644 votes or 52.66 percent against the 14,897 votes received by her opponent, former Sangguniang Bayan member Ernesto Go.

Rallies were held while the Commission on Elections was awaiting the arrival of the nine Compact Flash Cards to replace the nine previously defective ones. –JVillamil
