Brigada Eskwela launched in city
ENTHUSIASTICALLY supported by parents and communities, the Brigada Eskwela is Department of Education’s most resounding success story in recent years.
This was disclosed by DepEd Undersecretary Franklin Sunga who addressed the regional kick off ceremony of Brigada Eskwela on May 24 at the East Central Integrated School in Dagupan City.
Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez who represented the city government, lauded the significant role and support of parents, barangay officials and teachers in the Brigada Eskwela.
Brigada Eskwela is the partnership between teachers and community to prepare schools two weeks before the opening of classes.
Sunga said Brigada Eskwela’s partrnership with the private sector over the years amounted to P3 billion worth of maintenance and operating costs .
The figures he said may very impressive but he maintained that the true value of Brigada Eskwela goes beyond pesos and cents because of the invaluable lessons in cooperation between school officials, teachers, parents and barangay officials.
Barangay Captains Samuel Guadiz of Mayombo and Salvacion Bravo of Herrero Perez East attended the brief ceremony.
Dr. Ma. Socorro Dimalanta, district supervisor, cited the success story of Brigada Eskwela at East Central Elementary School since 2008. -LM
