Manay Gina to win by landslide in 4th District

FEARLESS FORECAST

‘Manay Gina’ de Venecia’s congressional bid for Pangasinan’s fourth district got an overwhelming boost when no less than two powerful and influential leaders in the country threw their support behind her in addition to the already numerous endorsements she got from different sectors.

Presidential bet, former President Joseph Estrada of the Partido ng Masang Pilipino (PMP) and El Shaddai leader Brother Mike Velarde, publicly announced their endorsement when they came to Dagupan City last April 17.

The latest endorsements are expected to broaden her base of supporters in the district.

Estrada’s endorsement of Mrs. De Venecia and her team in Dagupan composed of re-electionist Mayor Alipio Fernandez Jr. and re-electionist Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez, was loudly welcomed by supporters present during the PMP’s grand rally beside the CSI Market Square.

Later in the evening, Brother Mike Velarde of El Shaddai found it timely to endorse the candidacies of GAB (for Gina, Al and Belen) during the movement’s prayer rally at the Dagupan Public Plaza.

Earlier, Manay Gina’s candidacy received the endorsement of local groups in the district groups pointing to her popularity and high trust rating. These include the Pilgrims Welcomers led by Cristy Dumpit, and the Farmers and Irrigators’ Association of Manaoag, San Fabian Chapter of Pangasinan Council of Women composed of 6, 709 women from San Fabian’s 34 barangays, the Mangaldan Barangay Health Workers led by Minarda Caburao and The Farmers Association of San Jacinto led by its president, Engr. Leonardo Villanueva.

“There is no stopping the tremendous support Manay Gina is getting because she is an icon of women empowerment and she gets along well with the women voters in the fourth district,” said Councilor Farah Decano of Dagupan City.

Councilor Rosalie Ellasus of San Jacinto said Mrs. De Venecia also attracts the farmers because of her platform LOVE, whose number one agenda is livelihood in every barangay, akin to Thaksin Shinawatra’s “One Town, One Product” formula that saved Thailand during the great economic depression.

Independent and commissioned surveys show Manay Gina enjoying a very wide lead over rivals with 81 percent in her favor among respondents.

During the soft opening of the Seafood Processing plant in Bonuan Binloc, Dagupan City, Manay Gina was again humbled by the expressions of love and support to her and her group when barangay residents carried placards with messages of their gratitude to her and her husband, Rep. Jose de Venecia for making the construction of this state-of-the art facility possible.

The project was constructed through a grant amounting to $2.2 million from the South Korean government.

While the project was originally proposed by the previous mayor of Dagupan, the former speaker, however, rejected the mayor’s proposal to secure another loan for the construction of the facility that would have added more financial burden to the city. Instead, De Venecia and Mayor Al Fernandez sought to build the project through a grant, and succeeded.
