LINGAYEN–Officials of the LandBank have since instituted several security measures after a cashier of the San Carlos City government managed to encash a P14 million check with the forged signature of Mayor Julier Resuello.

LandBank welcomed the outcome of a case filed by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) against Leny Fermin, designated cashier of San Carlos City, and some officials, having determined that a check with the forged signature of Resuello was encashed in the LandBank without being detected by the bank’s signature verifier.

The LandBank officials said it will not stand in the way of the prosecution of any responsible and accountable bank personnel found involved in the illegal transaction.
