POZORRUBIO–Former Mayor Artemio Chan, who is making a comeback bid for the top post in the town, continues to draw more support in his campaign.

Twenty-five of the 34 barangay chairmen — among them Kapitans Fely Ann Maligsa of Imbalbalatong, Simeon Quinto of District 2, Rogelio Amansec of Alipangpang and Herminigildo Ibaan of Palguyod who are all running for town councilors under the local party of Lakas-Kampi-CMD — have been present in all the campaign sorties.

Their presence, they said, should send the message that “we are here for our people”.

Balikbayan Manny Saplan, joined by many of the town’s balikbayans, has been seen attending the nightly campaigns to demonstrate their group’s support for the programs initiated by Chan and his wife, the incumbent Mayor Emma Chan.

Under the Chans’ administration, Pozorrubio moved up to a 1st-class municipality classification.

Three-termer Rep. Mark Cojuangco has also expressed strong support for Chan, whom he described as “of one mind” with him when it comes to his projects for the 5th district. His wife, Sison Mayor Kimi Cojuangco, is running for the position he is vacating.

Chan, for his part, expressed gratitude all the support he has been receiving.—Jing
