SM City Rosales holds fire, earthquake drill
SM City Rosales mall has formed its own Emergency Response Group (ERG) composed of employees and tenants to help in ensuring safety during calamities.
The ERG is made up of teams with different specialties: fire fighting, rescue and evacuation, engineering, security and Control, communications, and first aid.
SM’s management said the formation of this group is part of its responsibility to provide a safe haven to its tenants and the customers.
ERG members undergo regular trainings and seminars to further enhance their emergency response skills.
The mall also supplements its disaster preparedness providing sufficient sprinklers, fire extinguishers, fire hose and axes.
FIRE DRILL
The ERG led a fire and earthquake last March 12, in line with the observance of Fire Prevention Month, to test out their responsiveness and ability to deal with such disasters.
The activity was participated in by elements of the Carmen Rosales PNP, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Rosales Municipal Disaster and Coordinating Council, Balungao Bureau of Fire, and Red Cross Emergency Response Unit at SM City Rosales.
Rosales BFP Senior Inspector Emmanuel L. Laberinto, who witnessed the entire activity, lauded group’s efforts and noted that the team was, in general, ready and equipped.
