Economic Team, BSP hold roadshow
THE government’s Economic Team and representatives from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) will be in Dagupan City on March 17 for another round of economic briefing. The briefing is being held nationwide.
The Economic Team, led by the Department of Finance (DOF) secretary, is composed of the Secretaries of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Energy (DOE) and the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA).
The briefing, a follow up on the “Dialogue for Post-disaster Rehabilitation” last December, will be held at the Emerald Hall of Lenox Hotel on at 10:00 a.m.
Around 150 industry and business leaders and select local government officials are expected to attend.
Special National Reconstruction Commission Secretary Ricardo Saludo will give updates on the activities of the Commission since December and identify rehabilitation projects in the pipeline.
BSP Economic Financial Literacy Center Director Zeno Abenoja will speak on the measures that the BSP continues to institute in support of rehabilitation.
NEDA Regional Director Leonardo Quitos Jr. will focus on the 2009 regional performance and prospects for 2010 given the rehabilitation efforts.
Dagupan City is the first of six cities that the Economic Team and BSP officials will visit in the next two weeks.
The delegation will also visit Baguio, Cebu, Davao, Laguna and Clark.–LM
