LAWMEN have arrested four illegal drug dealers in separate operations in Pangasinan last week, including one top drug included in the target list of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

The raid in Dagupan City resulted in the seizure of 50 grams of shabu worth about half a million pesos by a joint team of PDEA and the Dagupan police in an abandoned hut near the Muslim Area at Tondaligan Park in Dagupan City last Feb. 10.

Arrested was, Benjamin Sandoval, 46, alias Ben, as a suspected member of the notorious drug-dealing Andrada Group.

Sandoval, long wanted by PDEA, was arrested on Consejo Street in Poblacion, Urdaneta City while in the act of selling shabu.

Among those other arrested was Amino Rakman who led lawmen to the abandoned hut where some 50 grams of shabu was stashed.

Chief Inspector De Vera, head of the Pangasinan PDEA’s Special Drug Enforcement Team, said Rakman is suspected to be the right-hand man of Kair Mamayo, a top drug dealer also listed as among the PDEA priority targets.

Mamayo is believed to be the source of shabu peddled in Dagupan and other parts of Pangasinan.

Also arrested in separate operations were Carlito Aucena, 35, in Tabadero Street in Barangay Baritao, Manaoag and Cosain, alias Alexander Macaisug, in  Tondaligan, Dagupan City.

Police revealed that drug syndicates are now using minors in transporting big volumes of shabu from sources in Metro Manila to Dagupan City.

He said some of these young carriers have already been arrested and referred to the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

De Vera has recommended to the legal office of PDEA the filing of charges against the parents of the arrested minors.–LM
